We did the Art Project at school again because
I wanted to squeeze in one more awesome Halloween Craft!
I got floral foam, white tissue, Spanish Moss, little pebbles and cotton balls from the dollar store. You’ll also need a black marker, glue and thread.
Then we went to a friend’s farm to get some awesome twigs because he has a better assortment of trees to chose from.
When I arrived at the school with my box full of twigs I told the other Moms that we were doing a Blair Witch Project.. LOL!
STEP ONE: Cram a twig into the floral foam base, so that it looks like a little tree.
Layer them as pictured and add a cotton ball to the middle for the ghost’s head. Wrap the tissue up around the ball to create a little ghost.
Tie thread around his head, give him a face with marker, then hang from your “tree”. I doubled the thread so that I’d have a loop on one side for easy hanging. I squeezed a bunch of glue on the top of the foam and stuck on some moss.
This was my prototype for the class.
Next, I got to work with the class!
Each student got to choose moss, teeny tiny pebbles, or larger pebbles. Some kids used all 3! I loved seeing them express individuality and creativity with their ghost faces and how they decorated the bases.
Here’s the class’s Haunted Forrest!
I’m already planning the winter version of this!! Stay tuned =)
It’s not too late to get the recipe for Halloween Pasta Salad for parties tomorrow and over the weekend!
